Alchemical Meditation with Marius von Brasch (2 Sessions)

For those who have participated in Marius’s previous courses on alchemy, Splendor Solis or/and Aurora Consurgens, this is an opportunity to go beyond absorbing knowledge and explore how the own psyche relates to alchemical symbols and scenarios. The psyche often uses – as for example in dreams – symbolic yet individual language to communicate aspects of how we feel on a deeper level, where and how changes might improve the relationship to self and others, here and now.

In the first session, we will explore The Vessel and The Dragon through guided meditations developed by Marius. In the second we will take The Hermaphrodite and The Task. After the visualisation/ meditation there will be time to make a sketch or simple reminder with colours on paper or the medium of your choice so as to ground what revealed itself. There will also be time to share experiences.

Facilitator: Dr Marius von Brasch is a visual artist (mostly painting) and researcher with a keen interest in contemporary ways of approaching symbolic alchemy in life and art. He has a background in psychotherapy and literature, has exhibited widely and teaches experiential approaches to painting and, most recently, courses on various subjects for the Fintry Trust. He works from his studio in Rookley on the Isle of Wight. His work is in public and private collections.
