Consciousness Came First: Book Launch of Edi Bilimoria’s latest work
31st October 2026 2.00 pm – 3.30 pm
(House & grounds open until 5.00 pm)
A warm welcome awaits you as we celebrate the launch of Dr Edi Bilimoria’s new book: Consciousness Came First – Revealing Evidence for Universal Intelligence and Mind Beyond the Brain.
In this work, and in his presentation, Edi poses searching questions such as What is consciousness? Does the brain generate consciousness, or is consciousness itself the primary principle underlying all existence?
These questions have occupied philosophers, scientists, sages and spiritual traditions throughout the ages and form the central theme of the book.
Drawing upon more than half a century of research into science, philosophy and the Perennial Philosophy, this work explores the possibility that consciousness is not a by-product of matter, but the very foundation from which life, mind and the universe emerge. The book examines evidence from both modern scientific enquiry and the timeless wisdom traditions, seeking a broader understanding of human nature and our place within a living and intelligent cosmos.
At a time when humanity possesses unprecedented technological power yet continues to wrestle with questions of meaning, purpose and identity, a deeper understanding of consciousness has become increasingly important.
This launch event offers an opportunity to explore some of the principal themes of the book and to reflect together upon one of the most enduring questions of all: who, or what, are we?
Edi will be signing copies of his book, and the presentation will be followed by tea and home-made cake.
£10 to include all refreshments. Please book below for either the online or in-person option.
