The Essence of Taoism as a Living Experience
上善若水
“Shang Shan Ruo Shui…”
(“Ascend Mountain, Be Like Water…”)
Taoism is a philosophy to be embodied. In a world that has an excessive reverence for memory retention, conjecture and theorising, Taoist cultivation moves beyond a ‘neck up’ culture, to engage with bodily, energetic and spiritual aspects of the human experience.
Whether you seek physical comfort in your body, energy abundance, equanimity in temperament, mental incisiveness or spiritual enlightenment, Taoism offers a wide suite of practices to help you nurture and harness the life experiences.
Taoist philosophy is a practice, a discipline to be lived day-to-day, to enable people to live in harmony with nature and discover personal freedom. If you would like to learn more deeply about how you can ‘craft’ the human journey, whilst engaging in a spiritual practice of burgeoning
illumination, then come to this interactive talk that will take us on both a physical journey and one of personal self-discovery.
During the day we will move around Fintry’s beautiful spaces: if the weather is fine we will start off outside in the garden, under the trees, then move into the house, and finally into the Studio.

Facilitator Kurt Spencer Rowe has been studying and applying Taoist principles since the 1990’s. He has discovered for himself a greater smoothness with the flow of life, an enhanced inner serenity and a more profound and deeper acceptance of life’s contours.
Fee: £25 (All proceeds to the Fintry Trust).
