Exploring Virtue and the Virtues with Elizabeth Medler and Julie Parker (2 Sessions)
Sunday 31st May & Sunday 7th June 2020 14.00-15.00 BST
In this two-part session we come together to explore virtue and the virtues. Between us, we shall endeavour to penetrate to the heart of the subject and see whether we might be able to reveal something of the nature of these beautiful ornaments of the human soul.
In the first session (31st May) we will present classic texts dealing with the subject drawn from the world’s perennial traditions, allowing regular ‘pause’ points for quiet reflection and time for comment at the end.
Allowing this nourishing and inspiring input to sink deep within, we invite you to the second session on 7th June. This second session will be of a more interactive nature. We invite you to share your thoughts and bring your own readings, if you wish.
It is said that when souls come together, there is the possibility to raise fair children (ideas) between them. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and being inspired by any readings or reflections you may like to offer.
Elizabeth Medler was for many years Manager of The Hamblin Trust in West Sussex. She edited its magazine New Vision (formerly The Science of Thought Review) published continuously since 1921, and ran the events programme. Today she works as a freelance editor and proof-reader.
Julie Parker is Manager at the Fintry Trust. She has been responsible for the educational programme for many years – organising, writing and teaching courses. She was previously Vice Principal of an FE specialist language college in Kent.
