Harmony – The Franciscan Way with Father John Quigley

In this talk Father John Quigley will explore some of the more complex aspects of the life of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most venerated figures in Christianity, and the experiences that led to the transformation of his relationships with people, with nature and the cosmos. Father John will also introduce some ideas from Pope Francis’ Encyclicals, including Evangelii Gaudum, or The Joy of the Gospel (2013); Laudato Si’, On Care for our Common Home (2015), and Fratelli Tutti, On Fraternity and Social Friendship (2020). We will consider the relevance of Franciscan spirituality for our times, and as a guide for living in harmony with ourselves, each other, and nature.

John Quigley, a Franciscan friar and priest, is an accomplished public speaker and artist. He leads annual pilgrimages to Rome and Assisi to explore the lives and times of Saints Francis and Clare. He preaches at conferences and delivers presentations based on Franciscan spirituality – St Francis and John Duns Scotus. Since 2009 he paints in his studio in Cincinnati, Ohio.
