Summer School 2024: Know Thyself – The Path to Inner Wisdom

Fintry Trust Summer School, 18th – 21st July 2024

‘Know Thyself’ was inscribed on the portal of the ancient Temple of Apollo in Delphi, Greece. And Jnana Yoga, or the Path of Knowledge in the Hindu tradition, asks ‘Who am I?’. Join us on a transformational journey to explore how ideal philosophy can help us discern right knowledge and come to know our true selves on the path to inner wisdom.

Philosophy literally means ‘love of wisdom’, and the soul’s love of wisdom is the cause of all quests for truth. Drawing on ancient and contemporary sources from East and West, the Fintry Trust Summer School 2024 will explore the deeper meanings of wisdom, ideal philosophy, innate ideas, right knowledge, how to discern truth from error, the real from the unreal, and the role of myth in expressing mystical aspects of truth.

Together we will discover why these topics are so relevant today, as well as offering guided practices rooted in world spiritual traditions, to help us know our true selves, individually and collectively.

Sessions will include:

  • Illustrated presentations, on the Iliad and Odyssey, revealing the path of knowledge for the soul, by Murray Morison; and Steps to Enlightenment: The Path of Wisdom, by Sally and Jean-Paul Jeanrenaud.
  • Steps to Enlightenment: The Path of Wisdom, by Sally and Jean-Paul Jeanrenaud.
