The Flower of Life is an ancient symbol that is found in nature and across all world cultures. Early depictions are found on the walls of the Temple of Osiris in Egypt, where people went to study sacred geometry.
It is believed to represent the sacred template of creation as it emerges from the great void. It depicts how all life comes from a single source, represented by the point in the middle circle. The overlapping circles build outward from this central point, forming a flower-like grid with a six-fold symmetry like a hexagon.
All geometric forms can be found within it, including shapes like the five Platonic Solids, which are the basis of all structure. An understanding of the symbol can lead us to a deeper awareness of the interconnectedness of all things, and of nature in its essence. It provides a focus for meditation, creativity and healing.
