Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with Sarah Shaw (4 Session Course)
One of the purposes of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is to show man the way out of suffering. This is achieved by way of physical and mental disciplines and through the attainment of self-knowledge. He states that when the mind is settled and quiet we are established in our essential nature, which is unbounded consciousness.
In this course we will be looking at Patanjali’s 8 limbs of Yoga, and in particular at the first two outer links, which offer practices that prepare the ground for the more interior experience that brings with it the contemplative state of Samādhi.
