Matthew’s description of the talk

British scientist Rupert Sheldrake and myself have written a book together on The Physics of Angels: Exploring the Realm Where Science and Spirit Meet. In this talk I will summarize some of our exciting discoveries about the angelic realm and how angels “cannot help but love” (Aquinas); how they admire human work (Hildegard of Bingen); how they guide the processes of evolution (Alfred Russel Wallace who broke with Charles Darwin over this one point), and how Aquinas’s treatment of angels parallels today’s quantum theory (a discovery of Sheldrake), and much more. All religious traditions make room for angels in their worldview (indigenous peoples call them “spirits”). As we begin to grasp the reality of a universe that is two trillion galaxies big, each with hundreds of billions of stars, it behooves us to renew our understanding of angels who help guide the evolutionary and cosmic processes, including our own creativity and intuition.

Bio
