Shakespeare, the Tenth Muse with Peter Dawkins
Shakespeare’s Muse was Pallas Athena, the Tenth Muse, the ‘Spear-Shaker’ who shakes her spear of light at the dragons of ignorance and vice. Symbolic of illumined intelligence, the goddess is all-wise, all-knowing, and thereby referred to as the goddess of wisdom.
The Shakespeare works are like the goddess, full of wisdom, conveyed to us by means of hearing, seeing, and acting. The challenge to us always is whether we can hear, see and usefully use this wisdom. It is a true mystery, inviting us to enter, participate and enjoy.
In this talk, Peter Dawkins will endeavour to share some of the key sparks of wisdom that he has been enlightened by in the course of his many years of immersion in Shakespeare and the wisdom tradition with which Shakespeare is connected.

Peter Dawkins is a philosopher, writer, lecturer and teacher involved in the mystery traditions. He is founder and principal of the Francis Bacon Research Trust, co-founder and elder of Gatekeeper Trust, and partner with his wife Sarah of Zoence Academy. Amongst his many books and writings, he is author of Second-Seeing Shakespeare, The Shakespeare Enigma, Core Truths, and a series on The Wisdom of Shakespeare in the Shakespeare plays.
