The Human Soul in the Platonic Myths (4 Session Course)

Plato is associated with works of a philosophical nature founded on reason and logic, so Platonic myths might seem a contradiction in terms. The Platonic dialogues, however, involve not just logical discussion of abstract ideas, but also a recounting of myth and allegory which verges on the mystical.

In these sessions we will look at what this shift from rational discourse to intuitive reason signifies and what account of the nature and destiny of the human soul is suggested.

Facilitator: Julie Parker
