The Fintry Trust Library of Ancient Wisdom contains over 4,000 volumes of a religio-philosophical nature. It includes works representing the great world religions and religious thinkers. It has an extensive collection of Thomas Taylor translations of Greek philosophers, works in the Platonic and Neo-Platonic tradition and on the mystics.
The library is currently open to subscribers of the Fintry Trust by arrangement. We are pleased to inform subscribers, however, that additional access is being provided through residential Library Weekends. For dates please see the most recent newsletter.
The weekend opens with an introductory meeting and coffee at 10.00 am on Saturday, and closes after tea at 17.00 on Sunday. Those wishing to come for one day only may do so, and it is also possible to stay overnight at Fintry before and after.
As Fintry is also a Retreat House, there will be a celebration of short daily rites four times a day, which participants may wish to take part in.
Fee:- Access to the library itself is free of charge to subscribers.
The cost of the accommodation and meals is based on a rate of £25 per day.
Those who wish to attend, but who are not currently subscribers of the Fintry Trust, will be asked to pay an additional £7 to cover the annual subscription.
Please note that places will be limited to 12 participants, therefore early booking is recommended.
